this past Saturday afternoon was a successful celebration of curls!
Like anything else I plan, I like to put out a message that resonates well with us ‘curlies.’ This time around, the theme of the event was all about embracing the frizz! Frizz, as many of you know, is practically unavoidable with curly hair! We all strive for the perfect definition and volume, but sometimes we just can’t avoid frizz. But, that is okay!
Repeat after me: “IT’S OKAY TO HAVE FRIZZ!”
Now repeat it again… and again… and again...
Now that it’s embedded in your membrane, let’s discuss the products that help minimize unwanted frizz (which were in the goodie bags the first 15 curlies in attendance received)!
Ouidad Mongongo Oil-
This multi-use oil can be used as a conditioner, leave-in, and finisher for all curl types. This liquid gold elixir leaves all types of curls soft, manageable,and illuminated with healthy shine. Its main ingredient is Mongongo (duh!) also known as "hair food" in Zambia for its high concentration of Linoleic Acid, Omega-6, and Vitamin E.
Bounce Curl Light Crème Gel-
This is a lightweight styling gel. This product has a holding ingredient to help define your curls. It is
has mostly gel-like and cream consistency. It will leave your hair feeling weightless and it will lock your curl shape in for a long time, reducing frizz. Black seed oil is one of the secret Middle Eastern oils that has been used by Merian’s (Bounce Curl founder) and her family for many
years.
Jane Carter Solution Frizz Free Styling Smoother-
Frizz-Free Styling Smoother is the perfect product to add to clean, wet hair. It can be used to reduce frizz and encourage your own natural curl as well as work as a heat protector when blow drying and flat ironing your hair. Frizz-free
can also be used as a daily hair nourisher in the morning to revive tired hair. Slumber Party in the PM, Frizz-Free in the AM.
Unfortunately, some products didn’t make it in time for this event, but there’s always next time!
Bounce Curl owner, Merian graced us with her presence mid-drink and totally surprised us with some extra goodies for prizes for a mini-trivia game that was enjoyed by all.
